The Rock children's ministries If you have a toddler - 5th grader, come join us at The Rock! The Rock is an interactive Sunday School experience where we help your child walk through the Bible. Each week we'll help your child see, taste, touch, and feel what it was like for those living in Bible times. Sunday mornings include singing, teaching, projects, games, memory work, and more. We'd love for you to meet our staff or give you a tour of our area. Look for the sign marked "Rock Children's Ministry." We’ll help your child feel right at home.

what to expect Expect to Enter the World of the Bible Mountains! And lots of them! Come immerse in a 3-dimentional world of the Bible complete with deserts, seas, grasses, and mountains reaching 17' tall! The Rock is transforming its space into a life-sized, interactive model of Palestine, complete with 3D mountains. Kids will learn the events that took place on the mountains of the Bible while surrounded by a model of them. Hearing the Sermon on the Mount? You'll get to sit on it. Learning about the Mt. Sinai? You'll get to put Moses and the people of Israel on it. Each week kids will learn the story and geography of the Bible, developing and decorating the Biblical world as they go!
Expect to Meet Others Each week your child will join with the other Rock kids in a big group event to sing songs, celebrate birthdays, and hear about the day's lesson. After that kids break off into smaller groups of 6-12, based on age, to study the Bible, work on memory, make crafts, learn how to pray, and help make the Bible story come to life. Are you bringing a friend or sibling who wants to be in the same group as you? Don't worry. Just ask and we'll do our best to keep you together.
Expect to Meet Jesus The purpose of our curriculum is loving and learning about Jesus. Kids will meet Jesus as he is revealed in the words of the Bible and as he expresses himself through the other children and volunteers. By bringing the biblical story into a 3-dimentional tangible world the kids will meet Jesus in his own stomping grounds. They will walk with him as we literally follow his footsteps (in a slightly smaller scale, of course)!
Expect to Make an Impact on the Local and Global Community Through our ministry we focus on helping others within our community and in other countries. We have held our own soup kitchens, to raise money for Haiti, collected books for the United Through Reading Program, and delivered Easter baskets to residents at area assisted-living facilities. Specific information about current projects is sent home throughout the year in your child's "bring-it-home" sheet.
Expect Family Participation We believe parents are the biggest spiritual influence in their child's life. We see our job as partnering with you in helping your child follow God. One way we seek to accomplish this is by providing every child who registers with a "Bag-O-Knowledge." This includes their very own Bible and folder. Each week we'll send them with a "bring-it-home" sheet wich has a Bible passage to memorize,, questions to talk about, and an activity to do together.

Stepping Stones So much more than childcare, Stepping Stones is a children's ministry that runs during our worship and education hours. Everything at Stepping Stones is designed to help your kids meet Jesus as kids. Safe and fun, Stepping Stones is run by a team of trained staff that love kids and gear the day with them in mind. Unsure if your child will be okay? Don't worry. We'll give you a pager and give you a buzz just in case your child misses you. Stepping Stones lets you engage in a worship experience or time of focused learning while your kids can do the same. It's a place where kids are dying to go and parents are dying to leave them. |
